Ask Campaign

Ask campaign-aware questions using roster, relationship, note, and recent-text context, then decide what to keep.

What this sends: answering a question means sending the slice of your campaign the answer needs to Anthropic. Your question itself is also sent to Voyage AI first, so the app can work out which parts of your world you’re asking about. How it works

Ask Campaign is a chat interface. Type a question, send it, and the engine responds using your full campaign context - your NPCs, locations, factions, plot threads, and the relationships between them. Because the answer is drawn from your own world, it reflects what you’ve actually built, not generic fantasy.

Good questions to ask:

  • “Who are the NPCs connected to the Thieves’ Guild?”
  • “What plot threads involving the missing merchant are still open?”
  • “Remind me how Elara knows the Baron.”
  • “Which locations have I tied to the Shadowfell arc?”

Send a message with the Send button, or press Ctrl/Cmd + Enter while the message box is focused.

These two tools answer different needs:

  • Campaign Search is a fast keyword lookup that lists matching creations. It uses no AI and works without a subscription. Reach for it when you know roughly what you’re looking for and want to jump to it.
  • Ask Campaign is a conversation. It interprets a question and composes an answer from across your campaign. Reach for it when you want a synthesized answer rather than a list.

Subscription

Ask Campaign is an AI feature, so it needs an optional AI subscription and draws on your monthly AI generations. Your questions and campaign context are sent directly to the engine provider (Anthropic) to produce the answer - there’s no Campaign Familiar server in between. Tips

  • Be specific. Naming the NPC, faction, or arc you care about gives the engine a sharper target.
  • Follow up. It’s a conversation - refine your question if the first answer isn’t quite what you needed.
  • Cross-check important details against the actual creation before relying on them at the table.
