Trust

Only what you paste in, only when you generate, only to Anthropic's API.

Your campaign is a local database file on your disk. Here is exactly what stays, what leaves, and what never exists.

Stays on your machine

  • your campaign database
  • your notes
  • your style profile
  • your exports

Leaves only when you click Generate

  • the relevant slice of your notes, for that call and nowhere else

→ Anthropic API ← the draft

Never exists

  • a cloud copy of your world
  • an account holding your campaign

Full export, built in

verified 2026-07-02

Full campaign export — JSON, Markdown wiki-style with links, and CSV — ships today via the Export Campaign wizard. Your world is portable from day one.

Verify it yourself: Settings → Export Campaign — try it on day one

The sunset promise

If Campaign Familiar ever winds down, a bring-your-own-key build is released so the app never goes dark. Your database keeps working either way — it's a file on your disk.

What telemetry exists

None on your campaign content. No telemetry reads your notes, your NPCs, or your sessions — only what you paste in, only to generate what you asked for, only to Anthropic's API. This website uses privacy-respecting page analytics (Plausible-class): visit counts, not people, no cookies.

The app works forever without a subscription

Organizing, browsing, editing, and search never require a subscription. The subscription only powers generation.

If secure AI calls fail: check your antivirus

Some antivirus web shields (a known Norton Web Shield case) intercept TLS and break secure AI calls. The app tells you when this happens; the guide shows the fix.

Verify it yourself: the guide's troubleshooting entry covers how to spot it
