Campaign Search
Search across creations, understand what is included, and use filters without expecting notes or recaps in the same results.
Open it from Campaign Search in the campaign nav.
What it searches
Campaign Search looks across all of your creation types together:
- NPCs
- Locations
- Items
- Encounters
- Factions
- Campaign Markers
- Sessions
- Party (party)
You don’t pick a type first - one search covers them all. Each result shows the creation’s type and name, and clicking it takes you straight to that creation so you can edit it.
What it doesn’t search
Session recaps and Campaign Notes are kept in separate stores and are not included in these results. To search your notes, use the search box inside Campaign Notes.
How to use it
- Open Campaign Search from the campaign nav.
- Type a keyword and press Enter (or click the search button).
- Browse the combined list of matches.
- Click any result to jump to that creation.
This is a plain keyword search - it does not use AI and does not count against your AI generations. It’s fast and works whether or not you have an AI subscription.
Keeping your search
Your search term persists while you stay on the Campaign Search page, so you can click into a result and come back without retyping. Because Campaign Familiar is a desktop app, there’s no address bar - copyable ?q= URLs and browser refresh behavior are not exposed in the desktop shell.
Tips
- Keep terms short and distinctive. A name fragment usually beats a long phrase.
- Use it as a launcher. When you know roughly what you’re after but not where it lives, search is faster than browsing each list.
- Tag for findability. Because search matches across types, consistent tags make related creations easy to round up.
