Founders

Your world deserves to be remembered.

A desktop app for DMs: your whole campaign in a local database on your machine, and session prep drafted by an engine that actually remembers it. Private, local, yours.

Your campaign lives in six places — a notes app, half a notebook, your players' memories, and your head at 11pm the night before. Every prep session starts with reassembling it, and every tool that "helps" forgets your world the moment you close the tab. You shouldn't have to be the only one who remembers.

Campaign Familiar keeps your whole campaign — NPCs, factions, places, and what actually happened at the table — in one database that lives on your machine. When you prep, it drafts session plans, NPCs, and encounters that remember your story: last week's cliffhanger, the grudge your rogue is nursing, the tavern's actual name. After the session, paste your notes and it proposes the updates — you approve what's true, and the memory grows. So nothing made at the table is ever lost.

Prep in it weekly and it gets sharper about your campaign every single session. That's the whole trick. No cloud account. No one else's server holding your world. One purchase, yours forever.

Founding DM seat — $29 one-time (launch price will be $39)

  • The app, forever. Windows today, auto-updating.
  • 12 months of Power included — the top AI tier, no meter anxiety while you settle in.
  • Founder-for-life pricing after year one: $5/mo Companion · $10/mo Power. Optional — the app works as your campaign database regardless.
  • A direct line to the developer. Founders' first sessions decide what gets fixed first. Name in the credits if you want it.
  • The refund is the trial: two full weeks on your real campaign — if it doesn't earn its place at your table, one email and your $29 comes back. No questions.
So the engine is AI?

Yes — generation runs on Claude, Anthropic's model, against your campaign's memory. When you click generate, the relevant slice of your notes goes to Anthropic's API for that one call and nowhere else. Your database never leaves your machine, and the app works without the AI tier at all. If any AI in your prep is a dealbreaker, this isn't your tool — genuinely no hard feelings.

Who's behind this?

One developer — Sandy. I'm not a DM; I'm a systems analyst who listened to my own DM — a man who loves this game — describe losing his evenings to the grind around it, and couldn't leave the problem alone. His campaign has been the test bed ever since — he holds founder seat #1.

How is AI use measured?

During your founder year, it isn't — 12 months of Power are simply included. At public launch, AI use moves to credits priced to the real cost of each draft (a quick NPC costs a little, a full session plan more), with a published menu — never an opaque meter. Founder usage helps calibrate that menu.

Which systems?

Built for a 5e table, 5e-first. The PDF import brings your own books' content in; other systems' support grows from founder demand.

Mac/Linux?

Builds exist; Windows is the supported platform for the founder cohort.

Do my players' notes/data go anywhere?

Only what you paste in, only to generate what you asked for, only to Anthropic's API. No analytics on your campaign content.

What if I stop subscribing?

The app and your database are yours forever — organizing, browsing, editing never require a subscription. The subscription only powers generation.

Can I try it before committing?

The refund is the trial: run it for two weeks on your actual campaign, and if it doesn't earn its place, one email brings your $29 back. (A metered free trial ships with the public launch; founders simply get the more generous version.)
